Hazel has to talk with the goddess of magic and crossroads named Hecate. Hecate gives Hazel a few options to choose from. First, they go over the mountains, and be pelted by boulders causing them to crash and potential die. Next, to go back to Rome and stop Gaea  from awaking and most likely dying because she is so powerful. Then, there is another option of going up and around and not having to deal with the mountain gods or Gaea and continue their quest. Hazel choses the option to go up and around the mountains so that they can save Percy, Annabeth, and possibly the world.

So far, Percy and Anna beth are trapped in the underworld. First they fall for days before they get to the bottom. Next, when the reach the bottom they get to a cavern, a very large cavern where an island the size of Manhattan could fit in it. Then, Percy controls the water to break their fall but the water causes sadness and depression causing him to not want to swim to the surface. Next, they find a fiat from where they fell from the top and find out arachnid is still alive. Then, they find a river of fire that helps heal them from their injuries when they fell.

The House of Hades is a very easy book to read. It has a very basic vocabulary and it is very easy to follow. The characters are very complex though. For example, Leo is arrogant at the beginning of the series but towards the end of the Mark of Athena, he learns to be a team and puts other peoples needs before his. As the story goes on, characters change as their challenges get harder and harder. The characters are starting to learn to use their resources just like the saying hen life gives you lemons, make lemonade.

Through the first ten pages, the book picks up right where it left off. Problems and good description. First, the team leaders of Percy and Annabeth are in the under world. Next, mountain gods are throwing rocks at the ship. Then, Hazel meets the goddess of magic. These problems are causing tension between the team. For example, they are all tired , so they do not want to have to take the night shifts. This is similar to lots of survival movies where they decide to explore later than that moment when they get to tee place they are stranded at.

I have started reading a new book called the House of Hades. It is the fourth book in the series of the Heroes of Olympus. The first book in the series in called the Lost Hero. It is about a boy named Jason who figured out he is the son of Zues. He meets people at Camp Jupiter and goes on an adventure with his friends Leo and Piper. The second book in the series is called the Son of Neptune. It is about Percy waking up at the enemy camp of camp Jupiter and helping them find an important staff to help them win a war. The third book in the series is the Mark of Athena. This is about Annabeth and her friends going to Rome to find an important statue that could stop the war and create peace.

The author of this story is very clever in her writing. She doesn't give you enough evidence to allow you to make assumptions but makes you think about all the possibilities. This causes the reader to get a little frustrated when reading. Also, she uses a ton of detail. This allows the reader understand the text much easier than if there was little to no detail at all. The author of this story uses foreshadowing to cause the reader to think. Like in the beginning when someone gets shot. The reader had no idea who shot him. Then the book doesn't mention it for awhile but comes back at the end with a surprise.

I would recommend this book to people who like mysteries and intense situations. This is because you have no idea what the clue says. Also, because you don't know who took the chip until later because there is a resolution to the story which is good. This is a good book to read because it has some action to go with the suspense. It causes you to read more and get hooked into the story as you get deeper in the book. The book is very easy to read. Also, it is not very long so you don't have to read it for a long time. The beginning of this book starts out very slow but as you get deeper in, it gets a lot better.

The subjects in this book are always do the right thing, believe in yourself. Doing the right thing is displayed when Jocelyn goes through the mothers jour and she sees her and gets very angry. This was not the right thing to do and she learned from that. The other thing is to believe in yourself. This is displayed when Jocelyn thinks she is right and Noah does not and she sticks with her decision and she was right.

A lot of times the chapter headings give you a hint of what is going to happen in a chapter. It says "The Envelope", which in tha chapter talks about how Jocelyn gets an envelope from Jason December which only her, Noah, and Jack know about. These headings give away the main idea but not the surprises and twists in the chapter  that occurs. The plot in this story has a lot of twists and turns that surprises the reader. Also, the characters behaviors get a little weird when something's about to happen. For example, Jocelyn acts a little strange and becomes secluded and closed to her feelings and it gives it away.

Jocelyn deals with conflicts differently than Noah. Jocelyn likes to go and deal with the conflict so that it is done with then and there. But Noah on the other hand likes to let the conflict play out so he doesn't have to deal with it himself. Jocelyn a lot of times likes to tell Noah that they need to go deal with the problem but Noah like to tell her the facts and tell her to deal with it later. Jocelyn has changed a lot since the beginning of the story. She has become less impulsive and thinking about her decisions before she does them. Also she is calmer as in she doesn't always have to do stuff right there and then. Noah has changed a lot too. He has become a little more relaxed and not worrying about everything like he was. Also he ha gotten out of his comfort zone more often than was before.

Some real life issues in the text is that Jocelyn's brother dies at a young age in a car accident. Another issue is that Noah's mom does drugs and he is influenced by that. This influences Noah by him watching his mom doing the drugs and he resists doing but he has a hard time doing that sometimes.  A third is a company is ripping people off by using backdoor codes to hack into their systems. The author talks about some of these issues a lot and some not as much as others. But the other uses characters dialogue to talk about these rather than random text. I think that the author wrote this work to entertain the reader rather than to inform or persuade. I believe the authors point she is trying to make is you should believe in what you think and don't listen to people trying to put you down. The author tells us that making the right decision that helps more people that doesn't include us rather than the wrong one that helps only you.

The book i'm reading

I chose my book because it looked very interesting and good to read. Also, it had good reviews on a website. The author uses good description to describe the setting and the characters. The main character in this story is Jocelyn. The other main character is Noah, Jack's best friend. The plot of the story is that Jack dies in a car accident. But Jocelyn finds a clue that she believes that he is still alive. She goes to tell Noah but he doesn't believe her. They continue to find other clues. But do they find him in time.
