The subjects in this book are always do the right thing, believe in yourself. Doing the right thing is displayed when Jocelyn goes through the mothers jour and she sees her and gets very angry. This was not the right thing to do and she learned from that. The other thing is to believe in yourself. This is displayed when Jocelyn thinks she is right and Noah does not and she sticks with her decision and she was right.

A lot of times the chapter headings give you a hint of what is going to happen in a chapter. It says "The Envelope", which in tha chapter talks about how Jocelyn gets an envelope from Jason December which only her, Noah, and Jack know about. These headings give away the main idea but not the surprises and twists in the chapter  that occurs. The plot in this story has a lot of twists and turns that surprises the reader. Also, the characters behaviors get a little weird when something's about to happen. For example, Jocelyn acts a little strange and becomes secluded and closed to her feelings and it gives it away.

Jocelyn deals with conflicts differently than Noah. Jocelyn likes to go and deal with the conflict so that it is done with then and there. But Noah on the other hand likes to let the conflict play out so he doesn't have to deal with it himself. Jocelyn a lot of times likes to tell Noah that they need to go deal with the problem but Noah like to tell her the facts and tell her to deal with it later. Jocelyn has changed a lot since the beginning of the story. She has become less impulsive and thinking about her decisions before she does them. Also she is calmer as in she doesn't always have to do stuff right there and then. Noah has changed a lot too. He has become a little more relaxed and not worrying about everything like he was. Also he ha gotten out of his comfort zone more often than was before.

Some real life issues in the text is that Jocelyn's brother dies at a young age in a car accident. Another issue is that Noah's mom does drugs and he is influenced by that. This influences Noah by him watching his mom doing the drugs and he resists doing but he has a hard time doing that sometimes.  A third is a company is ripping people off by using backdoor codes to hack into their systems. The author talks about some of these issues a lot and some not as much as others. But the other uses characters dialogue to talk about these rather than random text. I think that the author wrote this work to entertain the reader rather than to inform or persuade. I believe the authors point she is trying to make is you should believe in what you think and don't listen to people trying to put you down. The author tells us that making the right decision that helps more people that doesn't include us rather than the wrong one that helps only you.

The book i'm reading

I chose my book because it looked very interesting and good to read. Also, it had good reviews on a website. The author uses good description to describe the setting and the characters. The main character in this story is Jocelyn. The other main character is Noah, Jack's best friend. The plot of the story is that Jack dies in a car accident. But Jocelyn finds a clue that she believes that he is still alive. She goes to tell Noah but he doesn't believe her. They continue to find other clues. But do they find him in time.
